Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations
Alexis Lamek graduated from the Institut d’études politiques, the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Persian) and holds a BA in Japanese.
He was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations in New York in August 2013.
Between 2011 and 2013, he served as Deputy Director General of the United Nations, International Organizations, Human Rights and Francophonie Department. The previous year, he worked as Deputy Director of the Political Section of the United Nations, International Organizations, Human Righs and Francophonie Department.
Previously, Alexis Lamek served as Second Counselor and then Cultural Counselor in Tokyo (2006-2010), after three years as Second Counselor and First Counselor in Tehran.
He also worked as First Secretary at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2000-2003), and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, United Nations, International Organizations, Human Righs, and Francophonie Division (1997-2000), and Third and Second Secretary in Tokyo (1993-1997).
