It is with huge relief and great joy that the President confirms the release of the seven members of the Moulin-Fournier family, kidnapped in Cameroon on 19 February. They are all in good health and have returned to Yaoundé.
The Head of State thanks the Cameroonian and Nigerian authorities, which worked to achieve this happy outcome, and particularly President Biya in close cooperation with France.
Laurent Fabius went there immediately. And the Moulin-Fournier family will be brought back to France as quickly as possible.
The President recalls that eight other French nationals are still being held in the Sahel. He reaffirms his support to the families and reiterates his determination to work tirelessly for their release.
