The Ministre d’Etat will go to New York on Monday, March 12 in order to participate in a Security Council ministerial meeting on the challenges and opportunities presented by the changes in the Arab world with respect to international peace and security. This meeting was initiated by the United Kingdom, which holds the presidency of the Security Council in March, and which we fully support.
The Ministre d’Etat will reaffirm the vital role of the United Nations in supporting all solutions aimed at responding to the aspirations of peoples for freedom, respect for human rights and democracy. He will also reaffirm our unqualified commitment to these movements, which are equally legitimate and relentless, and will endeavor to convince all our partners of the need to take action in this direction.
