Every year 200,000 high school and university students participate in a variety of "Model United Nations" programs worldwide. Each program enables students to better understand the functioning of the UN system and to develop the art of peaceful negotiation.

Participants are assigned a country that they will represent in the various UN bodies. These simulations of negotiations enable the students to tackle several international political issues. Participants meet, prepare policy papers, debate issues, draft and vote on resolutions.
