Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations

Nathalie Broadhurst took up her duties as Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations in New York, with the rank of Ambassador, on 27 August 2020.

Since August 2015, she was Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France to the United States in Washington, D.C., where she served several times as chargé d’affaires a. i.

Nathalie Broadhurst has an extensive experience of the UN, as she has served in Paris, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Deputy Director for United Nations, International Organizations, Human Rights and Francophonie from 2013 to 2015, and as head of division for Development Policies within the Directorate for Development and Global Public Goods, from 2010 to 2013.

She has also served in Beijing twice as Second and then First Secretary (1998-2001; 2005-2009). She has also held the position of Chargé de Mission to the Director General for Globalization, Development and Partnerships from 2009 to 2010.

Nathalie Broadhurst graduated from Sciences Po Paris and is a former student of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (“Valmy” class of 1998). She has been made Chevalier of the National Order of Merit (Ordre National du Mérite) and Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.
